Y-R-U so amazing? Y-R-U the perfect platform, party shoe, chunky boot and sandal? Y-R-U, you are the best.

I stopped by the Y-R-U showroom to scope their latest goodies and say hi to my incredibly talented friend Z. If you haven’t heard of Y-R-U, I’d advise you to look ’em up ASAP. These shoes are NXT LVL. Sequined or spiked platforms, clear sandals, controversial flats, creepers and even platforms for men. Y-R-U is killing the game.

Thank you Z for hooking a homegirl up with new kicks. The Gemma makes me feel like one badass moto gal, and the Qozmo – Hi Light definitely compensates for the light up LA Gear shoes I never got as a kid!

Showing some love to my favorite salon, retail boutique and event space, The Well.

The Well is without a doubt the best place in LA to get your hair done, snag some new threads and party your face off. Top LA brands like Unif, Clover Canyon and AGAIN adorn the racks. They also carry unique vintage gems like Vivienne Westwood and COMME des GARCONS. Need a trim or touchup? Jefferson is all Davines, all business and the best. As for parties, you never know who they’ll bring in. Juicy J and Gaslamp Killer are just two of The Well’s performing artists.

If you’re downtown LA tomorrow, stop by The Well for a sneak preview of their Spring 2013 arrivals. They’ll feature releases from Tovar, Publish Bright Future and many more. Complimentary drinks and snacks will get your weekend started right.

Dress well. Stay well. I love The Well.

LF’s Summer Sale

Thursday, August 2nd, 2012

It may be a permanent summer in Venice Beach, those in school or the fashion industry are already thinking fall. While I hate the idea of cold weather, I can’t complain about LF’s blowout summer sale.

Yesterday LF on Abbott Kinney kicked off their summer sale with unbeatable prices. Thank God I came on my lunch break, any more than an hour here and I would’ve gone overboard. Shirts, shorts, jackets, dresses, shoes and accessories are all 60 percent off. Yes, I said 60. Six. Sero. Percent. Off.

I’ve been eyeing wedge sneakers for a while, so when I saw these ruby red sneaks I couldn’t say no. $100 off MSRP didn’t hurt either. In fact, I’m wearing them as I write, and if I do say so myself, they make my gams look goooooood.

If you’re in LA, make sure to swing by LF and scope their sale. Give yourself plenty of time, because this is one sale you won’t just browse.

Steve Madden’s Mad Tea

Thursday, December 15th, 2011

Just a few photos from last night’s Mad Tea Party at Steve Madden in Santa Monica’s Third Street Promenade.

Aimee Song, of Song of Style, hosted the event. Guests sipped cocktails, took photos and enjoyed complimentary makeup touch-ups. Best outfits were rewarded with Steve Madden gift cards.

Did I mention 40% off and free drinks!? Hey, I see what they’re doing here… Props to myself for walking away empty-handed.

She’s a WRECKER

Saturday, April 23rd, 2011

At long last, the Jeffrey Campbell WRECKER heel is mine!

A few weeks ago I posted an open letter to Jeffrey Campbell begging him to bring back the WRECKER. I couldn’t shake this shoe from my mind. I looked everywhere. I called retailers. I looked online. I wrote corporate. I even dreamt about wearing this shoe. If you follow my Twitter, you know I’ve been borderline obsessed. So how did I come into possession of the coveted WRECKER?

Total fluke. While combing eBay for the bazillionth time I found a size six black WRECKER located in Long Beach. I jumped on that baby like a bird on a worm. Screw bidding, I bought ’em then and there. I waited a couple days for PayPal to process, then anxiously awaited the arrival of my new shoes.

So what is the verdict? The WRECKER is better than I ever imagined! The shiny buckles, skinny straps, clompy heels and sweet smell of leather are enough to make my heart melt. Ok, perhaps that’s an exaggeration, but I couldn’t stop smiling while wearing them. The WRECKER fits like a glove and for being such a big heel, is comfy to walk in. Towering over everyone in Hollywood, I felt like a million bucks. When you look good, you feel good, and when you feel good you radiate that positive energy.

I’m already plotting outfits galore with my new heels. Skinny jeans, dresses, shorts, leggings, it’s almost an overload and I’m definitely not complaining. Look out Los Angeles, I’m going to be WRECK-ing down doors, making connections and doing big things in these bad boys! This is just the beginning…

*A huge thank you to Mattias who scoured NYC looking for my dream shoe. Any straight guy offering to hunt down heels a) has no idea what he’s getting in to and b) is a good man. Ladies and gents, follow him!!
