Ray Wang’s Subway Series

April 10th, 2012 , Bess

Thank you Ray for the amazing sketch!

While riding the subway home, I noticed a gentleman, what looked like, sketching me. Trying to be coy, I peered over. We made eye contact. He smiled. The guy behind him mouthed to me, “He’s good!”

A few stops passed before we exchanged contact info. I’m glad we did. Ray told me about his subway series and art. I talked about marketing research and fur. We exchanged a few words in Mandarin.

Having someone as talented as Ray sketch you, is an honor. I love art, and can’t draw for the life of me. Looking forward to meeting up Thursday to pose for the rest of the sketch. Don’t worry, I’ll post the final version. In the interim, click here to see more of Ray’s work and click here to see a second sketch he did by memory!

Can you guess what I was wearing!?

The sketch of Bess on Ray’s blog is absolutely SPOT ON. I seldom see a resemblance between us, but when I saw that expression there was no doubt we are kin. I fell in love with Ray’s other sketches as well, and look forward to seeing blog updates in my inbox. Yay for my vicarious life in NYC 🙂
