Two years ago my friend Brad suffered a life-changing wakeboard injury. The crash paralyzed him from the neck down. Faced with a long road to recovery and mounting medical bills, his parents and the wakeboard community came together to #ShredForBrad.

Brad is one of the kindest, funniest and nicest people I know. His optimistic outlook on life is inspiring and every time I see him (well, FaceTime him) he’s smiling. The Brad Smeele Foundation sells t-shirts (like the one I’m wearing) with 100 percent of the proceeds going towards Brad’s care.

So while today might be #ShredForBrad day, every time I ride I shred for Brad!

It might be Monday, but I wish it was still Memorial Day at Crescent Bar.

Between boat tie-ups, BBQs and secret spot smokeouts, I managed to snap a few photos. TBH I probably took more client photos than personal pics, but such is life…

I haven’t been to Crescent Bar since college and this trip by far surpassed my last. Our camp crew rocked, we had a responsible boat driver and the weather couldn’t have been better. I returned to Seattle with a mild sunburn and unforgettable memories.

Huge thank you to Mallory and Kyndall for making our girls road trip one epic adventure! Next up — SeaFair. Who’s ready!?

Birthday Sets > Birthday Sex

What better way to ring in my 29th rotation around the sun than with an epic birthday set on Lake Sammamish?

The boating crew braved frigid temps to throw down on what Seattleites considered a warm day. John, Eddie and Chelsea hit the wake hard. I broke my bindings last summer (I need an upgrade from the ’04 Mavens I’m riding) so stuck to surfing.

While this marked one of my more mellow birthdays, and the last of my 20’s, I couldn’t have spent it with a better group of people. Thank you again to everyone who made this day (and wave) so stinkin’ special. Stay tuned, because the weather is warming up and the wake will only get bigger!

On my bucket list of sites to see is Salvation Mountain, so for Valentine’s weekend in Palm Springs Val and I made the drive to seek salvation.

This inland gem adds a punch of positivity to the otherwise decrepit desert. The creator, Leonard Night, built Salvation Mountain out of adobe clay, stray and paint, as a testament to his faith. While Leonard recently passed away, his legacy lives on.

Salvation Mountain sits at the entrance to Slab City, off the grid 190 miles south east of Los Angeles. Val and I ventured into Slab City, and witnessed a mashup pf Burning Man meets Breaking Bad. Dubbed “the last free place in America,” Slab City takes its name after concrete slabs left behind from the abandoned World War II Marine barracks of Camp Dunlap. Today it’s a hot spot for snowbirds, squatters and those looking to get off the grid. Slab City, definitely a site to be seen.

If you’re exploring the Indio Vally, make sure to swing through Salvation Mountain. Slab City too, but I wouldn’t go there alone. Happy hunting and good vibes in your search for Salvation!

A couple weekends back Andrea and I adventured out to Denny Creek for some winter wonderland photos. We definitely underestimated the drive, hike and snow, but these pictures made wading through knee-high pow worth it.

I met Andrea through my friend/her boyfriend Bobby, when she modeled in Western Cultured’s Vance Creek shoot. She is just as beautiful inside and out, and smart too (microbiologist). We’ve got a couple concepts in the works for 2016 and I’m very excited for the photo adventures in store.

If you want to go on photo adventures (especially cannabis photo adventures) click here to shoot me a message.
