Photo of the Day: Day One Hundred Ten

Wednesday, July 21st, 2010

Today was my first attempt at chase boat photography with my new 300mm lens.

My friend Matt invited me out this afternoon and I told him the only way I’d come out is if I can take photos. We didn’t have a chase boat, but luckily I spotted a boat with lots of boys and zero girls. I asked them if they wanted to borrow a girl with a camera, and what man can say no to that? Talk about problem solving.

I captured a few good shots, but nothing that really rocked my world. This picture of Ben’s batwing is by far my favorite shot of the day, hence it’s my POTD.

I’ll post the rest of my photos in a bit. It’s back to work for me. T-minus three days until boat races…

Surfs Up

Wednesday, July 21st, 2010

Here’s a few photos from last night’s surf session.

Six boys and myself got together to surf, soak up the sun and relax on our friend Taylor‘s Malibu Boat. I could elaborate on the flat water, ideal surf wave, amazing girl to guy ratio and every other minute detail that made tonight perfect. However, I need to get some design work done. I think the photos speak for themselves. Good times with great friends. It’s nice to know there are still a few people in town who would rather ride than get wasted on weeknights. Surf sessions like this are exactly what I need!

Taylor is taking his boat out all week so check back for more surf, wake and sunshine photos. Also, boat races is this weekend. According to my weather app it’s supposed to be 101 degrees so expect lots of boating pictures in upcoming blogs!
