Happy Birthday Teresa

Wanted to give a big birthday wish to my amazing friend Teresa!

From middle school softball, junior girls sleep out and Whistler snowboard trips, drunken Tri-Cities nights to Texas weddings, Chinese walls, concerts at the Gorge and so much more, I am so thankful to have you as a friend. Here’s to ten years of friendship (has it really been that many!?) and another hundred! Love you lady!!

It’s Fashion Friday: Levi’s Sample Sale Style!

That’s right, I hit up the Levi’s sample sale and what else would I wear to a Levi’s event, other than my vintage $1 self-cutoff Levi’s!? Be jealous shoppers, be jealous…

On another note, I got oodles of compliments on my wolf shirt. The guy at the bank described it as “the coolest shirt I’ve ever seen.” Thanks Teresa for sewing in lace patches to this (also) $1 vintage find. This shirt draws boys like bees to honey, further proof you don’t have to drop a load of cash to get a great top.

Actually, now that I think about it, today’s entire outfit today came from thrift stores. The wolf shirt and shorts ($2 total) I scored at Penny Pinchers in West Richland. The sunnies ($1) and jacket ($12) came from Goodwill. The boots ($25) and cuff ($5) I scored at the Melrose Trading Post. Heck, the only things not thrifted are my rings. Total outfit cost? $45 bones. Clothes > Full Tank of Gas

Do you have a style staple that is guaranteed compliments? $1 wolf shirts make me feel better about $198 Jeffrey Campbell heels :]

Fashion Friday: 4/22/2011

This outfit, aside from being my typical LA attire, is a great example of investment pieces.

I’ve previously mentioned thrifting parts of my wardrobe and investing in others. For this Fashion Friday blog, I would estimate my shirt, shorts AND bag came to roughly $5. My boots I bought in China (bargained ‘em down to $30!) and the D&G sunnies were a graduation gift from my dad. It just goes to show that when you mix vintage and investment pieces, you get an outfit not available in stores. Throw in a DIY’d top by Teresa Does It, and your outfit is priceless!

Fashion Friday 4/15/2011

Something tells me Fashion Fridays will only get better from here.

I love LA. I love being able to wear what I want, without getting weird looks ala Tri-Cities. Fur, leather, lace, rings and kitsch things fly in this city. I can’t get enough. Two boys (possibly straight) complimented my hat. Funny, in Tri-Cities the boy who sold it to me asked if I bought it for my Halloween costume…

It’s the first Friday in my new apartment, and I’m already wetting my DIY’d skirt over the abundance of photo locations. These photos took place on our bridge between buildings. I popped up my mini tripod, set the auto timer and went wild.

Where should I take photos next? The emergency exits? In front of the entryway French doors? By the old brick fireplace? Near the garden in the back? Should I just live every day like it’s Fashion Friday!?
