Fashion Friday: long hair, don’t care.

If you follow me on Twitter, you know I worked into the wee morning hours last night resulting in a late slept Friday. My morning prep went like this: brush hair, brush teeth, throw on clothes, good to go.

I changed things up by changing my part, but other than that didn’t put too much time or effort into today’s outfit. Meh, how dressy do you need to be to run errands?

What’s your lazy day style staple? When I wear leggings and a loose top, it’s my way of saying, “I’m trying to care, but I don’t.”

Top: Urban Outfitters
Leggings: Bought in China
Boots: Nine West
Sunnies: Vintage
Ring: China
Cuff: Melrose Trading Post

Chinese Fashion

I noticed Michelle’s outfit while walking down Wangfujing Street yesterday. I love everything she’s wearing. Flannel? Check. Stripes? Check. Keds? Check. Leggings? Check check check!

Horizontal stripes are hot for summer. Did they ever actually go out of style? Either way, they represent fun in the sun. I’m also diggin’ her jeggings (jeans+leggings). This outfit is proof you don’t have to sacrifice style for comfort.

Thoughts on Michelle’s outfit? I live in leggings, flannel and flats.

Chinese Fashioin

Tuesday, April 13th, 2010

I ran into these girls walking home from work tonight. They are perfect for today’s Chinese fashion blog. Animal prints, sequin leggings (I must find a pair!), a wool peacoat and Victorian boots. Love it!

Saturday Night Supermodel

Monday, April 12th, 2010

Ok, not quite. I’m definitely not tall enough to be a model, but the lighting in these pictures reminds me of something from Vogue or W. To get this effect I added a Lightroom filter, a slight vignette and adjusted my colors just a tad.

Like I said before, most my clothes I purchased in China. I’ll still give you a rundown of the outfits though. Photo 1: Blazer, Zoom Market; Bra, Victoria’s Secret; Second Skin Leggings, Silk Market; Shoes, Christian Louboutin. Photo 2: Tank top, Urban Outfitters; Pin, Zoom Market; Jeans, Miss Sixty, Shoes, BCBG. Outfit 3: Dress and tights, Korean Boutiques.

I didn’t intend for my hair to be so crazy for this shoot. I started with one style, and when it didn’t work out I went big because I’m not going home. I’m already brainstorming for more photo shoots. Mendy visits in less than a month so we’ll get some great on-location shots. I’m already thinking of a subway terminal, bar and park for pictures. Maybe more high fashion stuff? I don’t know, but you’ll have to check back and see!

What do you think of these shots? The last one is my favorite. It’s the $16 dress.

Picture of the Day: Day Ten

Monday, April 12th, 2010

I brought my camera to work today hoping to snap my POTD. When I walked into the office everyone commented on my outfit. CC asked if today is a special day. She also called me handsome (I guess my outfit is gender neutral). Meng told me I looked beautiful today. Jokingly I said, “So I don’t look beautiful everyday?” and he said no. Everyone started laughing because Meng obviously didn’t understand my question. Casey said I looked like a rockstar. With all the positive feedback, I knew the POTD definitely needed to involve my outfit.

I’ve worn this outfit a dozen times. I wore leggings, a v-neck shirt, black zip up jacket, flats a fedora and an owl necklace. The only things I did different is a) wear mascara and lipgloss and b) wear a hat. I didn’t shower this morning and literally spent ten minutes getting ready. I guess with the right accessories and a little lipgloss, a girl can go from drab to fab!

p.s. I think I have a new favorite picture spot :]

Saturday Sneak Peek: Part Deux

Sunday, April 11th, 2010

Here’s one more sneak-a-leak photo from last night. I’ve spent hours today thumbing through photos, editing, resizing, editing more and writing blogs. I used a Lightroom preset to get this effect. It didn’t work so well with other images, but I like how it makes my studded heels and zippers pop in this shot.

Alright I’m hitting the sack. I don’t want a case of “The Mondays” tomorrow. I promise to post my photos so check back. I’ll list my clothing items too, but 99% of the stuff I wear for shoots I get in China.

If I started an online store, would you be interested?
