There’s something about an open road and starting fresh that makes me think of classic music. I’m talking Tom Petty, The Doors and Creedence Clearwater, Journey, Kansas and The Beatles, just to name a few. These are the songs our parents listened to, we listen to and our grandkids will listen to. They defined a generation, have meaning and years later, still make us want to road trip, rock out and party ’til the sun comes up.
For my amazing adventure I couldn’t listen to Britney, Lil Wayne or Gaga (although I did) for 19 hours. I needed the classics. The message. The inspiration. The music that reminded me, “Yes Bess, you can do this.”
And do it I did. Slow ride. Take it easy. All 1,084 miles.
